Board of Directors
Levi Gardner
Levi has attended the St. Johnsbury campus as a faculty participant since 2008. Originally from the Dominican Republic, he moved to The Northeast Kingdom in 1993. He has taught classes on bowling, basketball, and the Special Olympics. He first joined the GCF Board of Directors in 2011 and became a key PTL Board member in 2022. Levi looks forward to St. Johnsbury’s weekly campus meeting, enjoys the opportunity to learn new things, and hang out with his friends in an academic setting. He takes on an administrative role during campus, and assists in key record-keeping duties, such as weekly attendance.
Cindy Levine
Cindy is a board-certified health coach and website designer. She mentors students in refining their coaching skills and developing health coaching businesses. Her website design business focuses mainly on creating engaging platforms for holistic businesses. In her spare time, she volunteers for a conservation organization and builds and maintains websites for several non-profit organizations. She enjoys being out in nature, hiking, gardening, reading, and traveling. She has two children and two granddaughters and lives in Williamsville, VT.
Erik Johnson
Erik joined the GCF Board of Directors in December 2020 and the PTL board in 2022. He has been a participant at the Saint Johnsbury campus since 2007 and has taught many classes on various subjects. One notable class featured his experience playing in the USA Special Olympics Games, where he received a bronze medal for Bocce. Erik has been a Vermonter for most of his life. He enjoys living in the Northeast Kingdom with his family. When he is not participating as faculty or student at Peer Teaching & Learning, Erik participates in Green Mountain Self-Advocates, enjoys going to sporting events, and listens to music.
Gianessa Pirro
Gianessa joined the Global Campuses community in March 2019 and Peer Teaching in 2022. Gianessa has worked as a Case Manager, English Teacher, and Art Teacher for an alternative school in Bradford, Vermont. During this time, she was named Student Choice Faculty of the Year, which she considers to be her greatest accolade. She enjoys spending time with her son and creating various art forms as much as possible. “ I have always felt that in my heart it was my purpose to help people. I believe that everyone has something unique to contribute to the world, and that we have so much that we can learn from everyone around us.”
Lacy Gross
Lacy joined Global Campuses Foundation (GCF) in 2018 and, subsequently, the Peer Teaching & Learning team as an academic coordinator in 2022 upon its formation as a successor organization to GCF’s New England programs. She moved to Vermont from Texas, where she was a high school English teacher for nearly a decade. She was a part of a team that collaborated and developed curriculum for 23 school districts across Texas and was named “Teacher of the Year” in 2016 for the school district she taught at. In 2019, she obtained her Master of Science degree in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas. Lacy has a passion for the arts, reading, and advocating for educational reform and equity in public schools. She currently lives in Quechee, VT, with her family.
